Three-Mile Stretch Between Chestertown and Rock Hall to be Resurfaced Starting Mid-November

(November 7, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin a resurfacing project on Monday, November 14, to improve three miles of MD 20 (Chestertown Road/Rock Hall Road) between Old Fairlee Road and MD 446 (Broad Neck Road) in Kent County. Work includes milling, paving, striping and installation of reflective pavement markings.

Crews from David A. Bramble Inc., of Chestertown, will work 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday for approximately four weeks to complete the project. Motorists will encounter single-lane closures and flagging and should allow a few extra minutes for travel in this area.

The Move Over Law in Maryland requires motorists to make a lane change or slow down when approaching any stopped, standing or parked vehicle displaying hazard warning lights, road flares or other caution signals. The expanded law is in place to protect emergency responders and motorists who encounter a roadside emergency.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
