Project in Royal Oak Community Between St. Michaels and Easton May Result in Lane Closures and Detours Beginning June 21
(June 15, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin a resurfacing project on Tuesday, June 21, on MD 329 (Royal Oak Road) in the Royal Oak community of Talbot County. The work includes, milling, paving, and striping all three miles of this two-lane road. This project will improve traction, roadway drainage and pavement marking visibility, and will extend the service life of MD 329.
Beginning Tuesday, and continuing for about two weeks, work will take place 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Traffic impact will vary depending on the road segment. To help ensure worker and public safety, crews may perform this work in several short segments requiring full closures and detours. In the event of these closures, detour signs will be posted.
MDOT SHA will repave MD 329 (Royal Oak Road) in Talbot County beginning June 21.
MDOT SHA is asking residents and businesses for their cooperation, especially during paving operations. Hot asphalt may require up to two hours to cool before drivers and pedestrians can safely cross the new road surface. Project staff will monitor pavement temperatures closely and restore driveway access as quickly as possible.
MDOT SHA’s contractor, Team Cam, of Linthicum, is performing the work. For more information contact Bob Rager, MDOT SHA District 2 Community Relations Manager, at 443-463-3768 or

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
