Through June, Crews Will Work Daytime Hours to Patch and Install New Driving Surface
(April 26, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin work Monday, May 2, to improve the driving conditions and enhance safety on a section of MD 180 (Jefferson Pike) in Jefferson, Frederick County. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, crews will work between Lander Road/Holter Road and Mount Zion Road. The work is expected to be completed in June.
Crews will patch potholes to smooth out the road surface, and add a new layer of asphalt on more than three miles of MD 180. During work hours, motorists can expect a single-lane closure and a flagging operation.
MDOT SHA contractor, F.O. Day Company of Rockville, will use signs, cones, electronic arrow boards and a truck mounted attenuator to alert and guide motorists through the work zone.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.
Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
