​(April 13, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin two projects Monday, April 18, to repair sections of asphalt pavement on MD 144 (Frederick Road) in the Catonsville and Paradise communities of southwestern Baltimore County. Both will be complete by late June.  

In the first project, crews will patch sections of asphalt along MD 144 from MD 166 (North Rolling Road) to I-695 (Baltimore Beltway). This project costs $300,000, and will involve crews working between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings.  

The second project will patch sections of asphalt along MD 144 from I-695 to the Baltimore City line at Poplar Avenue. During this $238,000 project, crews also will work between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings.  

For both projects, there will be temporary single-lane closures, lane shifts and flagging operations during work hours, with temporary on-street parking closures as needed. At each location, temporary traffic signs, reflective barrels and electronic arrow boards will alert and guide motorists through the work zone. MDOT SHA contractor Gray and Son Inc., of Timonium, is handling both projects.  

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
