​Work Requires Flagging Operation; Project Expected to be Completed in May 

(April 7, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin a project Monday, April 11, to improve the driving surface to a section of MD 26 (Liberty Road) in Libertytown, Frederick County. Crews will work weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., to patch and restore the roadway surface of MD 26 between Chestnut Grove Road and MD 75 (Green Valley Road). The work is expected to be completed in May.      

The work requires a flagging operation. contractor F.O. Day, based in Rockville, will use signs, cones, electronic arrow boards and a truck mounted attenuator to alert and guide motorists through the work zone.     

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
