One-Day Detour Required as Crews Replace Drainage Pipe Across MD 355; Access Remains Available for Local Residential and Commercial Traffic
(April 6, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will conduct a one-day project Sunday, April 10, to improve drainage on MD 355 (Urbana Pike) in Frederick County by replacing a damaged drainage pipe under the roadway. Beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday, crews will close both lanes of MD 355 between Reels Mill Road and Ball Road to replace the pipe. The work is expected to be complete by 3 p.m.
While the work is taking place, motorists will be detoured using Araby Church Road, which connects to MD 355 north and south of the project limits. Local access will be available for emergency crews as well as residential and commercial traffic.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
