​Large-sized Load and Transport Will Move at Lower Speeds and Take Up More Than One Lane

(March 17, 2022) - Tonight, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will assist with the transport of a large grain silo move between the Dundalk area of Baltimore County through Harford County to the Cecil County/Delaware line. The move will take place beginning at 7 p.m. and continuing until 6 a.m. Friday, March 18.    

MDOT SHA maintained roads that will be used for the large move and transport are US 40 (Pulaski Highway) and MD 7 (Philadelphia Road). The destination of the grain silo is Delaware via Cecil County. 

T he wide truck carrying the grain silo will travel at a speed of up to 20 mph and will require two lanes to travel. MDOT SHA is recommending that motorists who plan to travel along the transport route use alternate routes or allow extra overnight travel time. 

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
