Nighttime Work Allow Crews to Apply Permanent Pavement Markings
(November 22, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will apply permanent pavement markings on I-97 at New Cut Road/MD 3 in Anne Arundel County tonight, November 22. Crews will work on I-97 northbound and southbound overnight starting at 12 a.m. and be complete by 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, November 23.
During overnight work hours, crews will close two left lanes in each direction of I-97. On Monday night, they will be working on I-97 northbound and southbound. Drivers are advised to use MD 295 or I-95 as alternate routes. All work is weather permitting. MDOT SHA’s contractor TeamCam Services is completing the work.
Customers who have questions about this work and state-numbered routes in Anne Arundel County may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603. Drivers should remain alert for equipment, work crews and changing traffic patterns.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones. Stranded motorists can dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
