Motorists Can Expect Intermittent Test Openings Between 6 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
(October 14, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will conduct test openings of the MD 173 (Fort Smallwood Road) bridge over Stoney Creek in the Pasadena area of Anne Arundel County between 6 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 15. During that period, contractor Covington Machine and Welding Inc. will perform routine maintenance on the bridge that includes test openings.
The duration of test openings will be similar to a typical opening for a passing vessel. Motorists may want to allow additional travel time to reach their destinations. Customers with questions about this work may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603. All work is weather permitting.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, look for reduced speed limits and other driving pattern changes. Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
Motorists can dial #77 or 911 from their mobile device for roadside assistance.
