​(September 28, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is beginning a project tomorrow, Wednesday, September 29, that will improve pedestrian access along MD 26 (Liberty Road) in northwestern Baltimore County. 

The project, taking place along MD 26 between Brenbrook Drive and North Rolling Road, will include reconstruction of sections of concrete sidewalks, sidewalk ramps, curbs, gutters and driveway aprons where necessary to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Work will continue through late fall 2021, weather permitting. 

Motorists should expect temporary single lane closures along MD 26 overnight Sundays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, as well as some daytime closures during the course of this project. During concrete construction work, sections of sidewalks will be temporarily closed to pedestrians from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. weekdays. Signs will be posted alerting pedestrians of the detours. 

MDOT SHA’s contractor, Image Asphalt Maintenance of Pasadena, will use electronic signs, cones and barrels to alert motorists and pedestrians of the work zone.
