I-495 sign
(July 16, 2021) – On Sunday, July 18, at 9 p.m., weather permitting, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin resurfacing the ramp from southbound I-295 (Anacostia Freeway) to northbound I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) in Prince George’s County. Work hours are from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly Sunday through Thursday through early August.
During work hours, motorists will be detoured to southbound I-295 (Exit 1B, MGM National Avenue and Monument Avenue) to access northbound I-95/I-495. Motorists should add extra drive time as traffic impacts may occur.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
