​(June 10, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin improving the driving surface of the MD 75 (Green Valley Road) bridge over I-70 in the New Market area of Frederick County on Sunday. Crews will work overnight to repair and patch the roadway, and the work is expected to complete in July.   

At 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, crews will start working on the northbound lanes of MD 75 and switch to the southbound lanes after two weeks. Crews will work Sunday nights through Friday mornings, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.     

Motorists can expect single lane closures on MD 75 so crews can safely complete the work. MDOT SHA will use electronic signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the work zone and lane closure.    

This work precedes a larger project MDOT SHA has planned to permanently replace the MD 75 bridge deck. Construction is scheduled to start in 2023.     

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
