(January 6, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will be making emergency repairs to the northbound I-270 bridge over Baker Valley Road in Frederick County tomorrow.

Starting at 3 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, crews will close the right lane of I-270 in order to repair damages the bridge sustained from a crash earlier this week. The work is expected to be complete by 10 a.m.

MDOT SHA will use signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the lane closure and work zone. Motorists should expect delays if traveling through this section of northbound I-270 located between MD 80 (Fingerboard Road) and MD 85 (Buckeystown Pike).

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
