(May 13, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) tonight will begin installing beams on the new MD 32 (Patuxent Freeway) bridge over the Middle Patuxent River in Howard County.

Tonight and tomorrow night, May 14, there will be single lane closures with a flagging operation on MD 32 north of Rosemary Lane. The work is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The new bridge is part of the $127 million MD 32 Phase II widening project that began last summer and will construct one new traffic lane in both directions of MD 32 between Linden Church Road and the I-70 ramps.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
