(May 6, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will mill, patch and pave both directions of MD 17 (Main Street) tomorrow in Myersville, Frederick County, from Cedar Street to north of the United States Postal Service location. The project, which covers a half-mile section of Main Street, is expected to be complete by the end of May weather permitting.
Motorists can expect single lane closures and a flagging operation from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The contractor, Charles J. Miller, LLC of Hampstead, will use signs and cones to alert motorists and guide vehicles through the work zone.
MDOT SHA appreciates our partnership with the Town of Myersville to plan, fund and complete this project. The upcoming work is the final step in a project that provided new sidewalks, storm drains, water and sewer lines, and a better driving surface that will benefit the town and its residents for many years to come.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. For a list of all major MDOT SHA projects, go to roads.maryland.gov.
