(August 29, 2019) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is enhancing safety along MD 2 (Ritchie Highway) near McKinsey Road in the Severna Park area of Anne Arundel County. Starting at 9 pm tonight, August 29, crews will remove potential conflict points at the crossover by making the following improvements:

 

• Closing the northbound MD 2 left turn lane into Park Plaza just north of the McKinsey Road traffic signal.

• Installing a curbing system along the northbound MD 2 far right lane to guide motorists directly into the Severna Park Marketplace.

 

The work will be complete by Friday morning’s rush hour. Area drivers are asked to remain alert for workers and the new traffic pattern along MD 2. Customers who have questions may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or 1-800-331-5603.
