Detour will be in effect from August 26 to August 31st; Residents Will Have Access to the Point of the Closure
(August 23, 2019) – On Monday, August 26 the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will closed and detour MD 804-B (Twin Springs Road) at MD 64 (Whitehall Road) in Chewsville, Washington County. The week-long closure and detour will enable MDOT SHA to expedite a drainage improvement project, as well as mill, pave and restripe the highway. The entire $422,000 is expected to be complete mid-fall.
MDOT SHA will direct motorists on Twin Springs Road to MD 64 and back to 804-B (Twin Springs Road). Citizens will have access up to the point of the closure.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our contractor. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on the road and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Drive like you work here and slowdown in construction zones.
