Motorists should expect single lane closures Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. MDOT SHA contractor, CJ Miller LLC of Hampstead, will use flaggers and construction barrels to guide motorists through the work zone. Approximately 4,300 vehicles use MD 31 each day and 3,100 vehicles use MD 407 on average, so motorists should plan extra commuting time during construction.
On April 9, MDOT SHA will resurface the park and ride located near the
MD 30 (Main Street/Hanover Pike)/MD 27 intersection in Manchester. The park and ride will close for the entire week and reopen on April 16. Commuters should consider using the park and ride at the MD 30/MD 482 (Hampstead Mexico Road) intersection, For a listing of MDOT SHA park and rides,

The projects are part of a larger $12.5 million project to resurface and improve MDOT SHA roads throughout Carroll County.
While MDOT SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely.
