Ramp to be Closed During Off-Peak Hours Thursday
(February 7, 2018) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will close the ramp from
MD 450 (West Street) to eastbound US 50 at the northern terminus of Riva Road between 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 8. During this time, motorists will be able to access eastbound US 50 from westbound MD 665 (Dr. Aris T. Allen Boulevard), northbound and southbound MD 2 (Solomon’s Island Road), southbound northbound and southbound MD 70 (Rowe Boulevard).
The ramp closure is necessary for crews to install approximately 100 feet of temporary concrete barrier to move traffic to the left side of the ramp to begin a temporary roadside slope repair project.
MDOT SHA is developing permanent solutions for the slope repair, which will start in the coming months.
While MDOT SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely.
