Motorists Should Expect Single Lane Weekday Closures

(June 1, 2016) – Beginning Monday June 6, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will begin resurfacing Old Frederick Road from Chapel Avenue to Rogers Avenue in Howard County, weather permitting.

Crews will work between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. The project should take approximately two weeks, weather permitting.  Crews will grind (remove the top layer of pavement), patch, and resurface the roadway.  Motorists should expect single lane closures guided by a flagging operation.

SHA awarded the $500,000 pavement repair project to CJ Miller, LLC. of Hampstead.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes.
