Guardrail Installation to Occur on Several Major Routes
(April 8, 2016) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) has started three projects to install 13.5 miles of new and upgraded median barrier along sections of I-70, I-81 in Hagerstown and US 340 in Sandy Hook, all in Washington County.
The $3.5 million investment will enhance safety with new guardrail and upgraded / repaired median barriers at these location:
Much of the work will be performed in the center grassy medians. Motorists should expect left shoulder closures and occasional single-lane closures for material and equipment deliveries.
