Traffic to be Detoured Overnight Using MD 305

WHAT:    Closure of southbound US 301 (Blue Star Memorial Highway) between MD 305 (Hope Road) and MD 304 (Ruthsburg Road) in Queen Anne’s County.

WHEN:    Wednesday, October 7 beginning at 8 p.m. and continuing through 5 a.m. Thursday, October 8, weather permitting.  If necessary, the closure and detour could be repeated Thursday night, October 8.

WHERE:    Southbound US 301 between MD 305 and MD 304. Northbound US 301 will not be affected by this work.

DETOUR:    MD 305 west to MD 213 south through Centreville, back to US 301.

WHY:    Southbound US 301 is temporarily reduced to one lane in this area as part of the US 301/MD 304 interchange project. The closure and detour are needed to ensure the safety of workers and motorists during guardrail installation along the right shoulder of southbound US 301.
