Crews will close one lane of traffic on northbound I-95 beginning at 8 p.m. tonight followed by double lane closures starting at 11 p.m. to remove traffic barriers. Beginning tomorrow night Wednesday, August 20 through Wednesday, August 27, crews will begin single lane closures at 8 p.m. and triple lane closures at 11 p.m., weather dependent. All lanes of traffic will reopen by 5 a.m. each morning. Multiple nights of lane closures are necessary for crews to mill and pave each lane of traffic and the shoulders of northbound I-95.
Traffic will have full access to ramps throughout the duration of this work; however motorists should expect delays. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and consider the Baltimore/Washington Parkway, US 1 or US 29 as alternate routes.
Motorists are reminded to reduce speeds and be attentive as they drive through the work zone. For more information about the project, please call the ICC Community Outreach staff at 1-866-462-0020.
While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
