(July 10, 2014) – Motorists will see overnight lane closures next week on MD 140 at the Baltimore/Carroll County line as crews set steel for the bridge over Liberty Reservoir.
The work is scheduled between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning Monday night, July 14, and should be complete after three nights, weather permitting. Temporary traffic stoppages for both directions of traffic lasting no more than 15 minutes are also possible.
The work is part of the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA)’s project to rehabilitate the bridge by replacing the deck and steel beams and widening the shoulders. More information about the project is available at
www.tinyurl.com/md140bridge.
While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don't follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
