(September 18, 2012) – The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will close the eastbound lane of
MD 90 between US 113 and MD 589 on Wednesday, September 19 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The daytime off-peak single-lane closure is necessary to allow crews to repair damaged guardrail which separates EB and WB MD 90 just east of the US 113 interchange. In order to provide a safe working area, one of the two lanes will need to be closed.
All eastbound MD 90 traffic will be diverted onto southbound US 113 to US 50 to connect to Ocean Pines via MD 589 or Ocean City via US 50. Additionally, northbound US 113 traffic wanting to go east on MD 90 will continue along northbound US 113 to MD 589 south, and back to MD 90.
Overhead message signs will be activated to alert motorists of the single-lane closure and detour.
While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Safer driving. Safer work zones. For everyone!
