Daytime Single-Lane and Shoulder Closures Scheduled to Begin Monday, August 19
(August 15, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will upgrade traffic barrier and end treatments long a section of MD 32 (Patuxent Freeway) in Anne Arundel County starting Monday, August 19. This work is scheduled for completion by late September, weather permitting.
Drivers should expect single-lane and shoulder closures along MD 32 between MD 198 (Laurel Fort Meade Road) and MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., weekdays. Motorists should plan extra travel time during work.
Contractor Long Fence Company, Inc. of Capitol Heights is performing the work, which is part of an areawide traffic barrier contract for State-maintained roads in Anne Arundel County.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes. Customers may contact the SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or 1-800-331-5603.
