Through Early Fall, Expect Overnight Lane Closures, Flagging Operations
(August 12, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin improving pedestrian access on a section of MD 700 (Martin Boulevard) in eastern Baltimore County on Thursday, August 15. The work is expected to be complete by early fall, weather permitting.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, crews will begin the project along MD 700 (Martin Boulevard) from Kelso Drive to MD 150 (Eastern Boulevard). They will work weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The project includes:
- Reconstruction of concrete sidewalk ramps;
- Upgrading curb and gutter; and
- Installing new crosswalk markings
Motorists can expect temporary daytime lane closures along any section of eastbound or westbound MD 700 while work is taking place. Contractor Paniagua’s Enterprises, Inc. (PEI) of Baltimore will perform the work.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
