Motorists Should Expect Daytime Work with a Flagging Operation on MD 68 (Lappans Road) between MD 632 and MD 65 through August
(August 1, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a pavement improvement project on MD 68 (Lappans Road) between MD 65 (Sharpsburg Pike) and MD 632 (Downsville Pike) beginning Monday, August 5. The project should be complete by the end of the month, weather permitting.
Drivers can expect a flagging operation Mondays through Fridays 7 a.m.to 5 p.m. The project is part of an area wide contract that includes line striping, crack sealing and micro surfacing.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Slurry Pavers, Inc of Richmond, VA, will use flaggers, signs, barrels, and cones to guide motorists safely through the work zone. Drivers should plan additional driving time during the pavement improvement project.
The State Highway Administration appreciates motorists’ patience as we complete this necessary inspection and maintenance work. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone for the safety of all drivers and the crews working to improve our roadways.
