MD 90 sign
Closure Will Be in Effect Wednesday and Thursday 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
(December 11, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will institute a two-day detour on MD 90 (Ocean City Expressway) on Wednesday and Thursday, December 13 and 14. The daytime temporary detours are necessary for paving operations.
Weather permitting, beginning both days at 8 a.m., traffic will be detoured on westbound MD 90 and traffic will be directed to southbound US 113 to westbound US 50 in Berlin. This detour is necessary to accommodate paving operations on the MD 90 ramp onto US 50 westbound. Traffic will be restored each day by 1:30p.m.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Allan Myers Inc. of Fallston, will use arrow boards, barrels and cones to safely guide motorists through the detour. Drivers should expect major traffic impacts with significant delays during work hours.
Hot asphalt may require up to two hours to cool before drivers and pedestrians can safely cross the new road surface. Motorcyclists are urged to be aware of uneven pavement surfaces during the project.
