(April 6, 2023) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration is repairing the concrete deck surface of the northbound I-95 bridge over MD 32 in Howard County. The work started this week and is expected to be complete in May.

The work schedule is Sunday night through Thursday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, weather permitting.

The overnight project requires single-lane and shoulder closures during work hours. The exit ramp on northbound I-95 to westbound MD 32 will also be closed. The detour directs motorists to continue on northbound I-95, take eastbound MD 175 and travel onto southbound US 1 to access MD 32.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, PDI-Sheetz based in Linthicum Heights, will use electronic signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the closures and guide them through the work zone and detour route. The State Highway Administration is aware that lane closures and ramp detours are inconvenient but are necessary to maintain a safe and reliable highway system.

As the spring season arrives, drivers are urged to remain vigilant for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists.  Remember, motorcycles can hide in vehicle blind spots. Look twice and save a life. Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
