The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will be closing 2 of 3 lanes on westbound I-68 (National Freeway) near the bridge over MD 55 (Vale Summit Road) beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday.  Weather and progress permitting, all lanes should open by 7 p.m. Wednesday.  The double lane closure is necessary for crews to safely perform a culvert repair.  Crews will return later in the week and possibly next week to complete the repair with the same lane closures.  MDOT SHA recommends that drivers use US 40 Alternate (National Highway) as an alternate route.
