Over Next Four Weeks, Motorists Can Expect Weekday Lane Closures, Flagging Operations

(September 10, 2025) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a highway pavement maintenance project in Harford County as soon as Friday, September 12. The work is expected to be complete by mid-October, weather permitting.

Contractor crews will patch sections of pavement where needed along 4.4 miles of MD 136 (Calvary/Priestford Road) from Asbury Road to Deer Creek in the greater Churchville area of Harford County.

During work hours, motorists can expect single-lane closures with flagging operations to control two-way traffic on MD 136 at any time between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays. Crews and flaggers will use temporary traffic signs and cones to guide motorists through the work zone.

The $405,000 pavement maintenance project is part of a $7.9 million State Highway Administration contract to improve pavement conditions and safety on State highways in Harford County. The contractor is Allan Myers MD, Inc. of Fallston. Weather permitting, the paving work will be completed in mid-October.
