Drivers Can Expect Daytime Single-Lane Closures Through Early Summer

(May 1, 2025) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will resurface a 2.5 mile section of MD 908C (Skidmore Drive/Whitehall Road) between MD 179 (Saint Margarets Road) and just beyond Oceanic Drive starting Tuesday, May 6. The project should be completed by early summer, weather permitting.

Drivers can expect single-lane closures Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Drivers should plan extra drive time during the resurfacing project.

The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Reliable Contracting of Gambrills, will use temporary traffic signs and a flagging operation to guide drivers through the work zone. Drivers should also plan for additional travel time while this work is underway.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
