Crews to Resurface Travel Lanes, Update Pavement Markings and Install New Signage at Chinquapin Round Road Intersection

(October 15, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will start a resurfacing project on MD 665 (Aris T. Allen Boulevard) between Bywater Road and the bridge over Church Creek in Annapolis. Beginning Wednesday night, October 16. Work is expected to be completed in by early December, weather permitting.

Crews will patch, mill, resurface, and restripe MD 665 in both directions within the project limits. During construction, drivers can expect overnight single-lane closures between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.

The project will enhance safety and operations at the MD 665/Chinquapin Round Road intersection by:

  • modifying the lane configuration on northbound Chinquapin Round Road between MD 665 and Fairfax Road to designate a dedicated left-turn lane and a through lane; and
  • upgrading pavement markings and signs to enhance driver and pedestrian awareness and delineate the travel lanes.

Contractor Allan Myers of Fallston and State Highway Administration maintenance crews will perform the work. Portable variable message signs will provide advance notification of overnight lane closures or ramp detours.
