Nighttime Drivers Should Plan Extra Travel Time During the Work
(September 26, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will temporarily close multiple lanes and ramps at the southbound I-95/I-695 interchange in southwestern Baltimore County., Wednesday, October 2. All lanes and ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday, weather permitting.
The traffic shift is part of the State Highway Administration’s 10-bridge rehabilitation project at the I-95/I-695 interchange. Drivers can expect the following lane and ramp closures on southbound I-95 starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday:
- Single-lane closure beginning at 7 p.m.;
- Double-lane closure beginning at 9 p.m.;
- Triple-lane closure beginning at 12 midnight; and
- Inner loop and outer loop I-695 ramps to southbound I-95.
The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
