Starting Sunday, Motorists Should Expect Overnight Lane Closures, Flagging Operations

(July 1, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin improving the pavement on MD 924 (Emmorton Road) in Harford County on Sunday night, July 7. All work will be complete by early fall, weather permitting.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Sunday, contractor crews will begin a $384,000 project to patch segments of asphalt pavement on MD 924 from Holly Wreath Drive to Plumtree Road. They will continue to work overnight, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays, through early fall. Motorists can expect overnight lane closures with flagging operations while work is taking place.

The paving work on MD 924 is part of the State Highway Administration’s highway maintenance program to improve safety and ride quality of pavements on state highways within Baltimore and Harford counties. Contractor Allan Myers MD, Inc. of Fallston will perform the paving work.

The State Highway Administration works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, and look for reduced speed limits as well as other traffic pattern changes.
