Triple-Lane Closures from the Inner Loop (Westbound) I-695 and Northbound I-97 Ramp to the Inner Loop I-695 Planned Overnight; Drivers Should Allow for Extra Travel Time
(January 10, 2024) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will improve the pavement on the inner loop (westbound) of I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) near MD 648 (Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard) near Linthicum beginning January 11. All lanes will open no later than 5 a.m. Friday morning, January 12, weather permitting.
Crews will close the three left lanes on the inner loop of I-695 between MD 648 and MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) to mill uneven sections of the roadway to improve the driving surface The two-lane northbound I-97 ramp to the inner loop of I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) will also be closed, providing one lane of travel along the inner loop ofI-695 in this area. Crews will direct drivers to use the MD 648 (Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard/Ferndale) spur exit to merge onto the outer loop of I-695. Drivers may also use MD 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) to avoid any delays.
