Motorists Can Expect Overnight Lane and Ramp Closures
(June 21, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will perform overnight work next week to resurface and apply line striping at the I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) interchange with MD 414 (St. Barnabas Road) in Prince George’s County. All work will be performed overnight, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Sunday night, June 25, and concluding the morning of Friday, June 30, weather permitting.
Crews will resurface the MD 414 (St. Barnabas Road) interchange ramps on the Capital Beltway. Crews will close the ramp for Exit 4A from I-495 southbound during work hours, and traffic will be directed to Exit 4B on I-495 southbound, where motorists can access both directions of MD 414. For the line striping, drivers can expect a double-lane closure on southbound I-95/I-495 between MD 414 and the Woodrow Wilson Bridge during the overnight work periods.
The State Highway Administration understands lane closures and detours can be an inconvenience, but the work is necessary to ensure a safe and reliable transportation system. Motorists are asked to reduce speeds approaching and while in active work zones. Customers with questions may contact the District 3 Office at 301-513-7300 or toll-free at 1-800-749-0737.
