(Aug. 19, 2019) – On Thursday, Aug. 22, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will detour I-68 at MD 639 (Willowbrook Road).  During the closure, traffic will be detoured onto the off ramps, across Willowbrook Road and back onto I-68 using the Willowbrook Road on ramps.

 

More than 17,000 motorists travel this section of I-68 daily, and motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time. This work is part of a $6.2 million bridge rehabilitation project that will be complete this fall. 

 

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our contractor. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on the road and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Drive like you work here and slowdown in construction zones.
