Motorists Should Expect Off-Peak Daytime Lane Closures

(September 1, 2017) – Next week, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin resurfacing MD 464 (Point of Rocks Road) between US 15 and the Catoctin Creek Bridge in Brunswick. The $1.8 million project will be complete mid-fall.

MDOT SHA’s contractor, Pleasants Paving of Frederick, will patch, remove the top two inches of asphalt, pave and restripe the nearly five-mile section of MD 464.  Motorists can expect single lane closures guided by a flagging operation Mondays through Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Each day, an average of 3,000 vehicles travel this section of MD 464 so motorists should plan additional commute time during construction.
