SHA HOSTS INFORMATIONAL MEETING ABOUT MD 85 / I-270 INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENTS

WHAT:

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is hosting an informational meeting regarding a proposed  project to reconstruct the interchange at MD 85 (Buckeystown Pike) and I-270 in Frederick County. The project, currently under design, also includes widening and other improvements on MD 85 from south of Westview Promenade (Executive Way) to north of Francis Scott Key Mall (Spectrum Drive). The main objectives of the project are to improve safety and traffic operations for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists while addressing future traffic demands. Final design for the improvements is scheduled to be completed in summer 2014.  The project is not currently funded for construction.

WHY:

The Informational Meeting will acquaint the public with the project. Display areas will show the current project design and anticipated improvements. SHA representatives will be available to discuss project issues and answer questions. No formal presentation will be given. Feel free to arrive at any time and walk through at your own pace.
