STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO RESURFACE SECTION OF US 301 (CRAIN HIGHWAY) IN BOWIE
Single-Lane, Shoulder Closures in Effect Beginning Monday, November 13

(November 9, 2023) The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin a resurfacing project on US 301 (Crain Highway) between Excalibur Road and MD 214 (Central Avenue) in Bowie beginning Monday, November 13. The pavement improvement project should be complete by mid-December, weather permitting.

Motorists can potentially expect single-lane and shoulder closures in both directions on US 301 Mondays through Fridays 7 a.m.-7 p.m. The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Allan Myers, of Fallston, will use arrow boards and barrels to safely guide drivers through the work zone.

Drivers are advised to allow extra driving time to accommodate the traffic impacts. The State Highway Administration understands roadwork can be an inconvenience but is necessary to maintain a safe and reliable highway system. Drivers are asked to slow down in the work zone for the safety of all drivers and the crews working to improve our roadways.
