Resurfacing of MD 290 and MD 561 Expected to be Completed by Early May

(March 17, 2023) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin projects next week to resurface MD 290 (Dudley Corner Road) in Queen Anne’s County and MD 561 (Lynch Road) in Kent County. Resurfacing projects improve ride quality and enhance safety by improving traction, drainage and pavement marking visibility.

Administration contractor David A. Bramble Inc., of Chestertown, is repaving approximately one-half mile of MD 290 from the Chester River to Crumpton Park, and 2.5 miles of MD 561 between MD 213 and MD 298. Work at both locations includes milling, paving and striping. Single-lane closures with flagging operations will be in place weekdays 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. while the work is being done. All work will be completed by early May, weather permitting.

The State Highway Administration maintains safety in work zones for our crews as well as motorists. Drivers need to stay alert, stay focused, look for reduced speed limits as well as driving pattern changes, and slow down in construction zones. Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
