Motorists Can Expect Intermittent Test Openings of the Bridge Between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m.

(October 13, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will conduct test openings of the MD 436 (Ridgely Avenue) bridge over Weems Creek in Annapolis tomorrow, October 14. Between 6 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., MDOT SHA contractor Covington Machine and Welding Inc. will perform routine maintenance on the bridge that includes test openings. The duration of test openings will be similar to a typical opening for a passing vessel.

Motorists may want to allow additional travel time to reach their destinations. Customers who have questions about this work may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 Office at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603. All work is weather permitting.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, look for reduced speed limits and other driving pattern changes.  Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.

Stranded motorists can dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
