(June 7, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) is improving the roadway surface on MD 103 (Meadowridge Road) at the MD 100 interchange in the Elkridge area of Howard County. On Sunday, crews began overnight work that includes the two roundabouts and exit ramps in the interchange. The roadway maintenance project is expected to be complete by July.

Crews will continue to work overnight, Sunday nights through Friday mornings, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. A detour will be in place when crews are working on the exit ramps. Only one exit ramp will be closed each night. The detour routes are:

  • Motorists on eastbound MD 100 traveling to MD 103 will be directed to take the next exit for I-95 and use westbound MD 100 to get to MD 103.
  • Motorists on westbound MD 100 traveling to MD 103 will be detoured to the exit for southbound MD 104 (Waterloo Road) and use westbound MD 108 (Old Annapolis Road) to access eastbound MD 100 to MD 103.

During the project, MDOT SHA contractor, Gray and Son, Inc., will also use a flagging operation on MD 103 so crews can safely work. Cones, signs, barrels and arrow boards will also be used to alert motorists about the work zone.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
