(October 19, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) in partnership with Allegany County crews will be replacing a pipe and rebuilding a concrete inlet on MD 831B (Old Mount Savage Road), Oct. 20 and 21 from 7 a.m.-4 p.m.

Crews will close MD 831B (Old Mount Savage Road) between Dakota St. and Lionz Lane to make the repairs that will improve drainage. Northbound traffic on MD 831B will be detoured to MD 36 at Lionz Lane. MDOT SHA will be using barricades at Dakota St. and Lionz Lane and signage about the closure to guide motorists.  Signage will be placed on MD 36 to advise southbound traffic prior to the closure.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
