(September 29, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) has begun improving northbound US 15 (Catoctin Mountain Highway) between Orndorff Road and the Pennsylvania state line.

The road surface improvements along this five-mile span will require single lane and shoulder closures. The $255,000 project is expected to be complete by November.

MDOT SHA’s contractor, C.J. Miller, LLC of Hampstead, is working on this project from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crews will use signs, barrels and cones to alert motorists about the closures and guide them through the work zone.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
