(March 28, 2024) - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will begin paving work on two segments of US 1 (Belair Road) in northeastern Baltimore County next week. Weather permitting, both segments will be complete mid-summer.
Beginning 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, contractor crews will mill, patch and resurface pavement on 1.5 miles of northbound and southbound US 1 between the Sunshine Avenue/Bradshaw Road/Jerusalem Road intersection and Open Bible Way in Kingsville.
Beginning 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, contractor crews will mill, patch and resurface pavement on 1.3 miles of northbound and southbound US 1 between Chapel Road and Ebenezer Road in Perry Hall. The work was originally scheduled for May 6.
During paving work, single-lane closures will be in effect on both sections of US 1 weekdays, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The work on US 1 is part of a $10.5 million State Highway Administration contract to improve safety and ride quality of pavements on primary state highways within Baltimore and Harford counties. Contractor Gray & Son, Inc. of Timonium will handle the resurfacing work at both locations.
Please drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
