Work Requires Some Periods of Alternating Traffic; Motorists Should Plan for Extra Travel Time
(August 25, 2022) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will perform bridge maintenance starting next week on the two-lane MD 173 (Fort Smallwood Road) bridge over Rock Creek, just north of the MD 607 (Hog Neck Road) intersection in Pasadena, in Anne Arundel County.
Starting Monday, August 29, and continuing for about two weeks, weather permitting, work will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will require periods of alternating traffic on the bridge. Crews will use a flagging operation to direct drivers safely through the work zone. Motorists should plan for extra travel time while work is underway to reinforce the bridge’s supporting wing wall.
