(August 3, 2020) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will pave the north lot of the MD 80 Park and Ride in Frederick County starting today, August 3. The 303-space lot will be closed so crews can patch and repair it as part of a $160,000 project to improve the Park and Ride. The Park and Ride’s south lot will remain open and not be impacted. The project is expected to be complete in two weeks.

MDOT SHA’s contractor, C.J. Miller, LLC of Hampstead, has already posted an electronic message board to alert commuters. Barrels and signs will be used to close the Park and Ride’s North lot entrance when crews are not working.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
